WHAT TO DO IN RODADERO
1. Rodadero is an excellent spot for trips into the stunning Tayrona national park. Whether you like daytrips or trips for several days, you will easily find travelling agencies selling the trip you want. You can also find representatives for the agencies at the beach, but it is probably a better choice to buy it directly from an agency.
2. The small Rodadero Aquarium is not that spectacular but might be worth a visit if you don't have anything special to do.
ABOUT RODADERO
El Rodadero is a town with a beautiful beach just outside the city of Santa Marta. It is located only 5 km from the center of Santa Marta, and is known as a place for relaxing and enjoying vacations. There are a lot of good places to eat and drink, and during weekends or vacations the nightlife is vibrant. El Rodadero is an excellent base for trips into the national park of Tayrona or to the Lost City.
HOW TO GET TO AND FROM RODADERO
You could get to Rodadero by bus from Barranquilla and Cartagena or by bus or taxi from Santa Marta.
ACCOMODATIONS IN RODADERO
You can rent an high standard apartment with 2 bedrooms on the beach promenade for as little as US$ 30 per night (dependent on the season). Go to the entrance of the building and look for the ladies sitting outside, they manage the rentals.
Hotel La Sierra is located on the beach and is a good choice.
Estelar Santamar Hotel is the best and most expensive hotel in Rodadero. This hotel is located on the left hand side of the beach, has a swimming pool, nice rooms and delicious food. This is the hotel in Rodadero if you can afford to pay a little extra for the accomodations. Prices starts at US$ 100 per room.
